Sue Cautley

Sue is an APA Titled Sports and Exercise Physiotherapist, gaining her original physiotherapy qualifications in 1988 at Lincoln School of Health Sciences.

After completing her degree and junior hospital rotations at Royal Melbourne Hospital, Sue ventured to London and worked at the Queen Elizabeth Military Hospital.  Here she gained invaluable experience in sports injuries and dry needling.  On returning to Australia, Sue was employed in Private Practice and continued her sporting focus with a role with Victorian netball teams.  Sue also commenced her sixteen-year relationship with the Western Bulldogs Football Club as club physiotherapist.  This exposed Sue to the elite expertise of club surgeons, sports doctors and fellow physios, working in an environment striving for excellence.  Sue completed two post graduate diplomas in Sports Physiotherapy and obtained her Sports and Exercise Physiotherapy title in 1999.  She was also presented a life membership to the Western Bulldogs Football Club.

In 2005 and 2006, Sue was awarded the role of Australian Physiotherapist for the Australian AFL team competing in the International series against Ireland.

Following her tenure with the Bulldogs, Sue joined the medical team at Essendon Football Club for 18 months.

Sue continues to be passionate about the assessment and ongoing management of sporting injuries at all levels of participation, especially teasing out the underlying sources of presenting injuries.  Her new found golf addiction fuels her continued sporting committment.

She has also more recently joined the Women’s Health team at SP&AR, completing further studies in breast feeding and treatment of mastitis.

Sue, in conjunction with her English partner, Mark, are the founders of “Sports Physio & Active Rehab”.

They have enjoyed raising their 2 children in the Macedon Ranges over the last 25 years.
